Life Goals Mag: Quit Your Corporate Job with Grace

“Quitting jobs has always been one of my absolute biggest fears in life, and a decision that gives me so much anxiety I quite literally get sick over it.

It’s actually ironic, considering how many jobs I’ve had in the last 10 years of my life, as I’ve struggled to find my place in the working world post-college, but yet it never gets any easier each time I decide it’s time for me to move on.”

Today marks exactly one month since I’ve said goodbye to the Corporate world and quit my full time job as an Executive Assistant. It’s really hard to believe that it’s already been that long and that I really did it – I really quit my stable and secure, well paying, comfortable job, in full pursuit of my passions!

Although my situation is very specific to my decision to change my life in every way possible by selling all my belongings and moving into a travel trailer … the advice on how to quit your job gracefully still remains the same for anyone looking to make a jump!

While I’m super thankful to have given the Corporate world a solid go over the past 4 years, I’m just as content in saying that they just aren’t for me right now. My skills in organization will still be put to extreme use, but for a much different purpose while I’m traveling the country and working in my own ways and on my own terms!

No matter what your situation is, the important thing is to always remember not to burn any bridges along your way! You never know when you might need to cross that same bridge again in the future.
